Pupkewitz Jetty Mile

Project Overview

The annual Pupkewitz Jetty Mile, an open water ocean swimming competition, takes place in Swakopmund the 27th December. This annual holiday event attracts around 250 swimmers as well as close to a thousand spectators that line the route from the Tiger Reef Beach Bar to the Mole.

The Pupkewitz jetty mile is in its 15th year and has been supported by The Pupkewitz Foundation. This event has become a tourist attraction and an annual event on the Swakopmund Festive calendar.

The late Mr. Harold Pupkewitz was a great inspiration for the Pupkewitz Jetty Mile and this event is part of Mr. Pupkewitz’s legacy.
