Wake-up Namibia

Project Overview

The Wake-Up Early Education Centre performs an important service in Otjimuise township to low income families. The Wake up! Early Education Centre is a facility which caters for the care and education of young children. The centre is governed by the Penduka Daycare Centre Trust, a Namibian Trust registered in 2008 with the aim of promoting and supporting early childhood development and education in Namibia. The objective of the Wake up! Early Education Centre is to provide quality care and education to children aged 2-6.

The renovation of the hall became a necessity as it is a high traffic area and the painted cemented surface was cracking up. The hall is used daily for lessons, afterschool sessions as well as a dining area.

The Foundation funded renovations- before the renovations, children had their lessons and meals in an open structure exposed to wind rain and cold. The education centre now proudly owns a school hall providing a conducive teaching environment to 160 children receiving Early Childhood Education.
